Pierre-Alain Meier
Au sein de Thelma Film AG, fondée en 1988 à Zürich, et de Prince Film SA, reprise en 2006 à Genève, j'ai produit et coproduit une trentaine de long-métrages de fiction et documentaires pour le cinéma, dans différents pays, notamment en Argentine ("Memoria del Saqueo" et "La Dignidad de los Nadies" de Fernando Solanas), au Cambodge ("Les Gens de la Rizière" de Rithy Panh), en Inde ("Les Raisons du Cœur" de Markus Imhoof), au Sénégal ("Hyènes" de Djibril Diop Mambéty), au Burkina Faso ("Yaaba" d'Idrissa Ouedraogo, "Laafi", "Moi et mon blanc", "Delwende" de Pierre Yameogo), en Roumanie ("Maria" de Peter Netzer), en Grèce ("Balkanisateur" de Sotiris Goritsas), en Italie ("Les Hommes du Port" d'Alain Tanner), en France "Bye Bye" de Karim Dridi, "Karnaval" de Thomas Vincent), en Suisse ("Blind Date" une collection de C.M. de Samir, Christoph Schaub, Marcel Gisler, etc, "Charmants Voisins" de Claudio Tonetti, "Thelma" de Pierre-Alain Meier, "Pas douce" de Jeanne Waltz), et plus récemment en Palestine ("Salt of this Sea" d'Annemarie Jacir), en Serbie ("Ordinary People" de Vladimir Perisic), au Tchad ("Au loin des villages" d'Olivier Zuchuat).
J'ai dû apprendre à rechercher des solutions dans différents pays, dans différentes cultures, et je bénéficie donc d'une certaine expérience à cet égard. Mon idéal : essayer de donner aux spectateurs plus que ce qu'ils demandent.
Actuellement, je suis en train de produire "More than Honey" de Markus Imhoof, tournage en Chine, aux USA, en Australie, et dans différents pays européens, coproduit avec zero one film (D) et Allegro Film (A), "Un été brûlant" de Philippe Garrel, produit majoritairement par Rectangle Productions (F), tourné à Paris et en Italie, avec Monica Belluci, "Comme des lions de pierre" d'Olivier Zuchuat, tournage en Grèce, coproduit avec AMIP (F), "Made in China" de Claudio Tonetti, avec Bruno Solo dans le rôle principal, qui sera tourné à partir de mai 2012 dans le Jura suisse et en Chine, ainsi que "Walty", un projet personnel actuellement en cours d'écriture, que j'envisage de réaliser début 2013 au Sénégal et en Mauritanie,

For the most part, these films were directed by natives of the countries in which they were filmed. Many were co-produced by European partners in France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy and, in a few cases, by on location partners, most often the filmmakers' production companies.
