Réalisatrice et Productrice sud-africaine. Elle a enseigné dans plusieurs universités.
Elle est née et a grandi en Afrique du Sud. Mandy Jacobson a eu deux Emmy Awards pour son 1er long métrage documentaire, Calling the ghosts (1996), sur la guerre, le viol et les femmes en Bosnie.
Productrice Délguée de the African Oral History, Mandy est une cinéaste multiprimée qui travaille entre New York et Johannesburg.
Elle a produit et réalisé des programmes aux USA, Brésil, Bosnie, Rwanda, Bangladesh, Cuba et Afrique du Sud, qui ont été diffusés sur de grandes chaînes un peu partout dans le monde dont le Sixty Minutes (CBS), PBS, ARTE, Discovery, SABC et ETV.
Mandy dirige Indelible, Media, une société de production multi-media destinée à promouvoir les cinémas et télévisions d’Afrique pour des diffusions télévisées et en salles de cinéma.

South African Documentary Producer and Director. Film lecturer.
She was born and raised in South Africa. Since 1991, Mandy Jacobson has produced short films and music videos. Calling the ghosts (1996) was her first feature length documentary film. Her documentary won two Emmy Awards and was instrumental in the recognition of rape as a prosecutable war crime. This Bosnia doc was also featured on CNN, NBC Dateline and CBS Sixty Minutes. With the Bill Moyers team won the Peabody for PBS feature, Facing the Truth about South Africa’s Truth and Reconciliation Committee. For PBS/Wide Angle; Road to Riches explored black economic empowerment in South Africa’s new democracy. Select others include Locked Up (Discovery/TLC), Defying Genocide (US Holocaust Museum); Tribute to Nelson Mandela, (SABC/BBC – series celebrating the legend); Total Soccer 2010 series – ETV. Member of the USA National Academy of Television, Arts and Sciences Chair, Jorens Ivens Jury, Amsterdam International Documentary Festival(1999) Achievement Award from the South African Minister of Arts and Culture (2001.)
The Executive Producer of the African Oral History, Mandy is a multiple award winning filmmaker, who works out of both New York and Johannesburg.
She has produced and directed programs in the US, Brazil, Bosnia, Rwanda, Bangladesh, Cuba and South Africa, which have been broadcast on major networks worldwide, including CBS‘s Sixty Minutes, PBS, ARTE, Discovery, SABC and ETV. Mandy is heads Indelible, Media, a multi-media production company dedicated to showcasing African cinema and television for international broadcast and theatrical release.
