Becaye Camara, aka beccaye Sugar Bec,lives in the outskirts of Dakar City, in the neighborhood of Diamagueune Diack Sao II. His artistic carreer began in 1996 as Urban Dancer when he took part in the Sen'Or Hip Hop and Song Contest in his High School under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture. He set up the Full Niggers Band in 1997, which was, according to him, the most hardcore underground possee of his district. Under the influence of Wa BMG 44 (another famous Hip Hop band) Sugar Bec and his buddies went up a level further in the Hip Hop hierachy and participated in many festivals, namely Rap in Dakar 1998 and 1999 editions, the Night of Rap organized by the CCF (French Cultural Center in Dakar). In 2002, he is featured in the BNP album entitled Geewu Sadik. He issued his first album BOOM LE BETT (Don't Be Surprised in Wolof, one of the dominant languages in Senegal) in 2003. After a long absence, he made his come back and got involved in Daddy Bibson's mixtape MIZAJOUR in 2011 and toured the country. In October 2012 he took part in the making of AJ ONE's big album "Sa Sou Djote" followed in 2013 by the album " My Life" with, David Show a Senegalese artist expat in Spain.
