Jean-Rivel Fondjo, photographe africain né à Douala, allie photographie d’art et photographie commerciale. Il travaille en Afrique de l’Ouest et vit au Ghana.
Son père lui apprit la photographie dès son plus jeune âge, et plus tard il se forma au College of Art and Social Sciences de la Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology de Kumasi, au Ghana, et au Photography Institute de Londres, en Angleterre.
Depuis, il s’est forgé une réputation pour sa façon de cadrer et de composer les images, de travailler la couleur, les contrastes et les effets graphiques.
Son travail artistique procède d’une forme organisée et d’un concept, c’est alors que l’image est immortalisée.
Avec l’avènement de la photographie numérique, ses travaux sont parfois retravaillés avec cette autre main de l’appareil photographique qu’est l’ordinateur.
Actuellement Fondjo tient les rennes d’un studio de photographie dynamique installé à la Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Kumasi. Il y forme des étudiants qui viennent pour la plupart d’écoles et d’universités d’Afrique de l’Ouest et qui sont intéressés par l’apprentissage du travail artisanal de la photographie.

Jean-Rivel Fondjo is an African photographer born in Douala. He doubles as an art and commercial photographer. He works within the West African sub region and resides in Ghana.
His father thought him photography through writing techniques at his early age. He later got formal training from courses organized by the College of Art and Social Sciences of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Kumasi, Ghana and later enrolled in The Photography Institute in London, UK.
