Lucy Gebre-Egziabher est une réalisatrice et productrice éthio-Américaine.
Née en Egypte, d'une mère égyptienne et d'un père éthiopien, Lucy Guebre-Egziabher quitte l'Egypte à l'âge de six ans, pour aller vivre en Ethiopie à cause de la guerre entre l'Egypte et Israël. Elle restera en Ethiopie jusqu'à ses 18 ans, avant de s'exiler en 1979 aux Etats-Unis durant 18 ans. Elle ne reviendra en Ethiopie qu'en Octobre 1997.

Lucy Gebre-Egziabher is an Ethio-American filmmaker.
Born in Egypt, her mother is Egyptian, and her father is Ethiopian.
Lucy Guebre-Egziabher moved from Egypt when she was six, during the Israeli-Egyptian War.
She stayed in Ethiopa until she was eighteen, and left (at United States) during eighteen years. She came back in October 1997.
Born in Egypt and raised in Ethiopia, Lucy Gebre-Egziabher came to the U.S. in 1979. She completed her undergraduate degree in International Relations/Communications in 1984 at Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA. After graduation, she moved to Washington, DC, where she started a career in international education. Ten years later, she decided to pursue her passion - cinema. Lucy enrolled in the Masters Degree program of Fine Arts in Film at Howard University. She has made five short films under Teret Productions, a company she founded.
Her fourth film Weti's Poem was screened at film festivals throughout the U.S. and won several awards.

She completed her undergraduate degree in International Relations/Communications in 1984 at Wilson College in Chambersburg, PA. After graduation, she moved to Washington, DC, where she started a career in international education. Ten years later, she decided to pursue her passion - cinema. Lucy enrolled in the Masters Degree program of Fine Arts in Film at Howard University. She has made five short films under Teret Productions, a company she founded. Her fourth film Weti's Poem was screened at film festivals throughout the U.S. and won several awards. While pursuing filmmaking, Lucy worked in the field of International Development (Education). She now devotes her time to filmmaking and guest lectures on film at various educational institutions. She also gives screening lectures with her latest film At The Second Traffic Light which she completed in February 2000. This film has been screened at film festivals around the world and has won several awards, including UNESCO's "Prix de Tolerance" at Vues D'Afrique 2001 in Montreal, Canada. At The Second Traffic Light is now being used by trainers and organizations for diversity training. She is currently in the development stage for her next feature film which will be shot in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia.
