Ego Boyo a commencé sa carrière comme actrice dans la série télé Checkmate de Amaka Igwe qui a connu un très grand succès. Diplômée du Département d'Arts Théâtre de l'Université du Bénin, Nigéria, elle a séduit les télespactateurs nigérians dans son rôle de Anne Hathrop durant plus de cinq ans du début jusqu'au mileu des années 1990.
En 1996, Ego aborde le monde de production cinéma. Son premier film était Violated, un film de cinéma. Violated est sans doute jusqu'à ce jour l'un des plus grands succès de film au Nigeria. La même année, Ego Boyo fonde sa propre société de production : Temple Productions Limited. Ego a produit plusieurs publicités télé et radio jingles pour d'importantes sociétés au Nigeria, dont (et pas seulement) Coca Cola, MTN, Ocean & oil Services, Unipetrol Nigeria, Schlumberger, Makeli Nig ltd., et Youth Business Initiative.
"30 Days" est le second film produit par Temple production. Le premier était en 2000 le film "Keeping Faith", co-produit avec Teleptioris Ltd. Ce film très applaudi avait pour vedettes Richard Mofe Damijo, Genevieve Nnaji et Joke Silva.
