CALL FOR ENTRIES

The 8th edition of the International Documentary Film Festival DOCVILLE will take place from April 27th until May 5th. In a week time over 70 to 80 documentary films will be screened in 5 different venues in the beautiful city of Leuven (Belgium).

The festival programme contains anelaborate national and international competition where 3 jury awards will be granted (The Jury Award for Best International Documentary, the Jury Award for Best Belgian Documentary and the Con-science International Jury Award) and 1 audience award.

A number ofnon-competitive sections complete the festival programme. In co-operation with the national broadcaster CANVAS the festival will explore the possibilities, challenges and advantages of the interactive documentary.

Since a number of films will be presented for the first time at DOCVILLE, many filmmakers and producers will be present to attend the screenings and introduce their films to the audience. As always, DOCVILLE does not only present documentary films, it’s also a place for encounters, discussions, debates and information sessions.

DOCVILLE CALL FOR ENTRIES
Filmmakers who want to submit their film, can do so now! Simply fill out the following form and send in the film on dvd: submit your film. To be eligible for competition, your film should be finished after January 1st, 2011. For non-competitive sections, this rule does not apply.

Op27 April 2012 gaat de 8e editie van het Internationaal Documentaire Filmfestival DOCVILLE van start. Gespreid over 9 festivaldagen worden 70 tot 80 films vertoond in 5 verschillende zalen in de Leuvense binnenstad

Het festivalprogramma bestaat onder meer uit een ruime nationale en internationale competitie, waarin 3 juryprijzen worden uitgereikt (de Prijs van de Jury voor Beste Belgische Documentaire, de Prijs van de Jury voor Beste Internationale Documentaire en de Weten & Geweten Juryprijs) én een publieksprijs.

Daarnaast bevat DOCVILLE een hele reeks niet-competitieve onderdelen, zoals een lange reeks nieuwe releases in avant-première en thematisch gebundelde reeksen, zoals kunstdocumentaires in Museum M. In samenwerking met CANVAS en MEDIA onderzoekt DOCVILLE 2012 de mogelijkheden die deinteractieve documentaire biedt.

Het programma van DOCVILLE bestaat doorgaans hoofdzakelijk uit premières en heel wat regisseurs en producenten komen dan ook persoonlijk hun film in- of uitleiden. Naast de filmvertoningen organiseert DOCVILLE ook debatten, info sessies en ontmoetingen.

DOCVILLE CALL FOR ENTRIES
Filmmakers die een film willen voorleggen aan het programmatieteam, kunnen dat nu doen. Vul het online inschrijvingsformulier in (via deze link) en stuur een kopie van de film op dvd naar DOCVILLE. Om in aanmerking te komen voor de competitie dient uw film afgewerkt te zijn nà 1 januari 2011. Voor niet-competitieve onderdelen van het programma wordt deze eis niet gesteld.

De deadline voor alle inzendingen is 7 maart 2012.
