Wild Cinema Windhoek International Film Festival has a new team and new date
The 2010 Windhoek International Film Festival will be hosted in September 2010. This new fes2val date is part of the revamping and restructuring that the Wild Cinema Film Festival Trust (WCFF Trust) has carried out. New board and trustee members will bring their experience to create a truly crea2ve and inspiring film event that showcases Namibian film and talent.

The film festival runs from the 3rd‐12th September 2010 in the Namibian capital, but its presence will be felt all over Namibia.

Lazarus Jacobs and Michaela Bauer are heading the organizing commiPee for the 2010 festival.
Lazarus Jacobs has been actively involved with the Festival as a Trust member in 2008 and 2009 and now serves as Chairperson for the Trust. Jacobs is a well‐known media personality, published writer and sought aSer public speaker. His experience and network will be a real asset in creating a successful Film Festival.

Michaela Bauer was co‐founder and chairperson of the Wild Cinema Film Fes2val Trust.
She was a Film Festival Committee member and director of the festival from 2004 till 2005. Michaela has extensive experience as an executive producer for local and international Film and TV productions.

Irmgard Schreiber, former festival director of Wild Cinema from 2006‐2008 and Volker Röder, former public relations officer and festival director of 2009, will both stay on board as trust members of Wild Cinema.

New additions to the board of trustees are Joel Haikali and Oshosheni Hiveluah. Haikali, local film director and actor who starred as the young Nujoma in the ‘Namibia: The Struggle for Liberation' film. He scooped the Audience Choice award for his short film ‘Differences' at 2009's film Awards. Hiveluah recently made her directorial debut and is well known for her efforts as a writer. She has contributed to local TV series, theatre scripts and screenplays.

Oshosheni works in the capacity of content producer and casting director for a local Film production company.

All the new board members bring experience that will ensure that 2010's festival will solidify its reputation and will continue to create a pladorm of creating a culture of appreciation and grow the cinema culture of Namibia.
The Wild Cinema 2010 will be something to look forward, as dedicated professionals from all relevant fields have committed their time and energy to making this a truly great event. On a National and International level, showcasing what Namibia can and has to offer the film industry. Anticipate 10 days of global and local film screenings at various venues in the city and nationwide, and also the glamorous red carpet events of the official opening and the Namibia Film Awards Ceremony.
