African Footprint Legends, a Cape Coast based group comprising Ghanaian, Burkinabe and Danish musicians last week stupefied a cheering audience in the Danish city of Aarhus with a highly energetic performance.

In a rather captivating show, the group surprised the audience with a dramatic fusion of Akan based ritualistic rhythms with highlife while dancers from Burkina Faso and Ghana raised the tempo on stage with vigorous traditional dances.

Performing at the 2016 edition of the Pan African Arts Festival, which took place at the serene Botanical Garden in Aarhus, African Footprint Legends sent the crowd on a cool “journey” that involved trips to the past and the future.

Clad in colourful costumes, the band turned the festival grounds into a blissful place as giant fontonfrom, atunpan and kpanlogo drums locked horns with trumpets, keyboards and traditional Burkinabe flutes and balafons.

Afro Pop Star Noella Wiyaala, reggae guru Shasha Marley as well as musicians, poets, acrobats, fashion designers and dancers from several African countries and Denmark equally thrilled the crowd with diverse performances.

Yves Afro Events organized and presented the festival, which was supported by Aarhus Kommune, Goodness Photo, Reach Out For A Child, House of Kente, Little Sir & Madam and AVANU.
