La rencontre d'Ousmane et Elisabeth, un musulman et une chrétienne, tous deux parents de jeunes victimes des attentats de Londres en 2005.
C'est l'histoire d'Ousmane, musulman, et de Madame Sommers, chrétienne.
Ousmane vit en France et Madame Sommers en Angleterre.
Tous les deux mènent une vie comme les autres, ordinaire, jusqu'au jour où leurs enfants sont portés disparus dans un attentat terroriste à Londres.
Ousmane et Madame Sommers, même si leur religion est différente, vont partager ensemble l'espoir de retrouver leurs enfants en vie.

Am Morgen des 7. Juli 2005, kurz vor 9 Uhr und dann noch einmal genau eine Stunde später, explodieren in London insgesamt vier Bomben. Im dichten Berufsverkehr aktivieren vier Attentäter in öffentlichen Ver kehrs - mitteln ihre in Rucksäcken mitgeführten Sprengsätze - binnen weniger Mi - nu ten kommen dabei in drei U-Bahn-Zügen und einem Doppel de cker bus
56 Menschen zu Tode, mehr als 700 werden verletzt. In einem später aufgefundenen
Bekennervideo erklärt einer der islamistischen Terroristen, seine
Gruppe befände sich mit der britischen Gesellschaft im Krieg.
Der Film erzählt die Geschichte zweier Menschen, die von den Anschlägen
unmittelbar betroffen sind, obwohl sie sich zum Zeitpunkt der Explosionen
weit entfernt von den Tatorten aufhielten. LONDON RIVER erzählt die Ge -
schich te von Ousmane, einem Muslim, und von Mrs. Sommers, einer Chris -
tin. Ousmane lebt in Frankreich, Mrs. Sommers auf einer der englischen
Kanalinseln. Beide führen ein ganz normales Leben - bis zu dem Tag, an
dem sie erfahren, dass ihre Kinder seit „7/7", dem Tag der Terroran schlä ge in
London, als vermisst gelten. Erst in der britischen Hauptstadt erfahren sie,
dass ihre Kinder dort zusammengelebt haben. Zwar unterschei den sich
Ousmane und Mrs. Sommers in Hinsicht auf ihr religiöses Be kenntnis und
ihre kulturellen Hintergründe - doch teilen sie die gemeinsame Hoffnung,
ihre Kinder lebend zu finden.

It's the story of Ousmane and Mrs Sommers, both humble people living ordinary lives, he in France, she in the Channel Islands. He has a son - she has a daughter - they both are students in London.
On July 7th 2005, without any news of their dear children, they decide to start a journey together in search of the two teenagers. And although they come from different religious backgrounds - Ousmane is Muslim and Mrs Sommers' Christian - they will share the same hope in finding their children alive. Putting aside their cultural differences, they will give each other the strength to continue the search and maintain the faith.
