Synopsis : Chouchou (Gad Elmaleh), jeune magrhébin, débarque à Paris. Son astuce naïve consiste à se faire passer pour un exilé chilien qui fuit la dictature. Il est recueilli par le Père Léon (Claude Brasseur) en charge d'une paroisse dans une banlieue parisienne qui va accepter de l'héberger. Chouchou, dont la supercherie est vite éventée, conserve la sympathie de Père Léon qui lui trouve un emploi : travailler chez une psychanalyste, le docteur Nicole Milovavich (Catherine Frot). Son travail consiste à recevoir les clients tout en assurant l'entretien du cabinet. Partagé entre une cohabitation tumultueuse avec frère Jean (Roschdy Zem) et son boulot, Chouchou s'immerge dans un univers fantasmagorique totalement extérieur à lui. Petit à petit, il s'intègre et commence même à s'en sortir. Il se rend à Clichy à la recherche de son neveu. Celui-ci est devenu "Vanessa", chanteuse romantique dans un cabaret parisien "L'Apocalypse". Chouchou est heureux de se retrouver dans son élément car lui aussi se travestit à ses heures. C'est là qu'il rencontre Stanislas (Alain Chabat), un habitué des lieux. C'est le coup de foudre… Chouchou nage dans un bonheur incroyable depuis cette rencontre, jusqu'au jour où apparaît l'inspecteur Grégoire. Un patient du docteur Milovavich, au comportement très partriculier. Le quotidien de Chouchou est chamboulé et le conte de fées s'en trouve menacé… image : Laurent Machuel, coprod. He is sheltered by Father Léon (Claude Brasseur), in charge of a local parish in a Parisian suburb, who agrees to take him in. Chouchou, whose deception is quickly exposed, retains the sympathy of Father Léon who finds him a job working for a psychoanalyst, Dr. Nicole Milovavich (Catherine Frot). Her job consists in receiving clients while maintaining the practice. Divided between a tumultuous cohabitation with Brother Jean (Roschdy Zem) and his job, Chouchou immerses himself in a phantasmagorical universe totally foreign to him. Gradually, he integrates and even begins to get out of it. He goes to Clichy in search of his nephew. This one became "Vanessa", a romantic singer in a Parisian nightclub "L'Apocalypse". Chouchou is happy to find himself in his element because he too cross-dresses at his own time. It is there that he meets Stanislas (Alain Chabat), a regular of the place. It is love at first sight… Chouchou is incredibly happy from this meeting until the day Inspector Grégoire appears. A patient of Doctor Milovavich, with a very strict behaviour.
