La presse joue-t-elle encore ce rôle de contre-pouvoir ou, au contraire, favorise-t-elle le jeu du pouvoir en place ? Comment mesurer l'influence des médias sur nos consciences et nos comportements. Que ce soit un meurtre d'enfant en province, un trafic d'armes entre la France et l'Afrique ou encore la fusion de deux multinationales, tout se transforme dans l'heure qui suit en informations. Mais comment arrivent-elles jusqu'à nous ?
En suivant les aventures d'un groupe de journalistes, Reporters dévoile ce qui se cache derrière le décor lisse du JT de 20 heures ou la une d'un grand quotidien de presse écrite. Enquêtes dangereuses, manipulations politiques, rivalités internes, prise de contrôle économique, enlèvements… Les journalistes rencontrent de nombreux obstacles pour exercer leur métier. Parfois au péril de leur vie. Et avec un seul but : la vérité. Dans le premier épisode, Thomas Schneider, journaliste d'investigation, enquête sur l'éventuelle implication de l'État français dans un trafic d'armes au Buranda. Dans le second, le diplomate burandais qui lui avait livré cette information est assassiné.

But how does this news reach us?
Reporters follows the adventures of a group of journalists to reveal what is hidden behind the sleek studio décor of the evening news or page one of a major newspaper? Dangerous investigations, political manipulations, internal rivalries, corporate takeovers, kidnappings. The reporters meet numerous obstacles in the practice of their profession, sometimes at the risk of their lives. But they have a single aim: the truth. In the first episode, Thomas Schneider, an investigative reporter, inquires into the possible role played by the French State in an arms sale to Buranda; in the second, the Burandan diplomatic who tipped him off is murdered.
