Kumakomoyo Arts Festival seeks to rehabilitate prison inmates through the arts. The festival is an amalgamation of partners who have an interest in the fight against crime and HIV and AIDS pandemic. The event provides a platform for over one hundred inmates from various correctional institutions to showcase their talents while interacting with seasoned visual and performing artists from around Zimbabwe.

The festival, themed “fighting crime and the pandemic through artistic rehabilitation and empowerment” is a brainchild of Zimbabwe Prison Services and National Arts Council of Zimbabwe and has been held annually, since 2005.

 It is also supported by Culture Fund in partnership with the Delegation of European Union to Zimbabwe .
