Interacteam Media and Spielworks Media have put up the play Githaa: Validating Dreams. It is a Kenyan comedy with the synesthesia of music, dialogue and mime. It was originally devised in sheng and mother tongue but since then it has been performed in other languages including English.

The play is very pictorial and elicits the audience imagination hence some scenes are intentionally abstract. It also explores and combines African folklore and contemporary music. This play can be seen as an allegory of Kenyans’ dependence and obsession with foreign products and culture at the expense of their own.

The play has an experienced and talented cast. Christine Savane, Lydia Gitachu , Bilal Mwaura, Helena Waithera, Willy Rama, Maryanne Nungo, Melvin Alusa, Iddi Achien’g and Rogers Otieno.
