Amkoullel et Toni Blackman, deux artistes ‘Global Hip Hop’ parmi les plus engagés et talentueux disent en un mot ce dont nous avons tous besoin, « CHANGE! ». Cette chanson est un joyeux cri de ralliement en Bambara, Français et Anglais pour pouvoir démarrer la Nouvelle Année avec des intentions positives et solides. Elle va être diffusée à partir de Janvier 2012 dans les 500 radios partenaires d’RFI.

A la pointe de la Soul Afrohiphop et du breakbeat, Toni Blackman et Amkoullel partagent leurs talents pour traverser les continents et les cultures. Ils sortent de l’underground avec un nouveau son mondial up-tempo qui plait aux amoureux de la musique de toutes générations.

C’est à Brooklyn dans Le Studio que Fritz Francois et Troy Sampson ont co-produit ce titre pour rapprocher deux cultures et créer un hit international.

TONI BLACKMAN ‘Ambassadrice Américaine du Hip Hop’ et AMKOULLEL ‘le prodige malien du Hip Hop qui honore la jeunesse africaine’ se sont rencontrés à New York au printemps 2011 lors d’une conférence sur ‘Hip Hop et Education’ où ils étaient invités comme panelistes. Tous deux activistes du mouvement Global Hip Hop, ils étaient déjà au courant de leurs activités artistiques, sociales et éducatives respectives. Outre leurs intérêts communs, la rencontre a révélé de nombreuses similitudes: énergie positive, rigueur dans le travail et vraie générosité. Surtout, lorsqu’ils se sont retrouvés sur la scène du Zebulon à Brooklyn, le mélange endiablé de tradition et de danse d’Amkoullel et les incroyables talents de Toni en freestyle ont déchiré sur scène ! Le public s’est déchainé en découvrant avec surprise cette énergie contagieuse !
A la fois hip-hop et soul, Toni Blackman chante dans la tradition des grands du jazz en improvisant une poésie appréciée par toutes les générations. Auteur, poète, productrice, actrice, professeur et réalisatrice, elle a partagé ses divers talents pour donner force et inspiration à la jeunesse démunie dans toute l’Afrique, au Bresil, en Europe et en Asie du sud-est. Besides all their common interests, the encounter revealed a similar positive energy, strong work ethic and spirit of generosity. When they met on stage at Brooklyn’s Zebulon, Amkoullel’s furious mix of tradition and dance and Toni’s amazing freestyle talents set the vibe for the crowd to go absolutely crazy as the audience shared surprisingly discovered their irresistible, contagious energy!

All hip-hop and all soul, Toni Blackman channels in the tradition of jazz greats improvising lyrics and poetry to which both elders and youth raise their hands in approval.
